On Wednesday 18 September, the 1/2 students of Warrandyte Primary School set off to Como House for the day. Mark and Justine from Como House were very informative and organised a variety of activities that helped students understand what life was like for children in the 1900’s. The children took part in some olden day games, including; coits, skipping, croquet and egg and spoon race. They went on a mystery hunt around the beautiful gardens, practised being servants and had a tour of the mansion. Some of the highlights for students was partner dancing in the ballroom, finding the hidden chamber pot (the toilet) and washing the clothes. It was a great experience for all 1/2 students and really gave them a glance into what life was like in the olden days!
